How do I check for updates if my server has no Internet access?

Determine if your server has access to the Asset Bank server by logging in as admin, selecting Admin>System and then Updates.
If you can see a list of updates your server has successfully connected so please proceed to upgrading Asset Bank .

If the page ‘hangs‘, loads an error or no content you must follow the instructions below:

  • Download the following 2 files: (right click on the link and select ‘Save target as‘ or ‘Save link as‘)
    http://www.assetbank.co.uk/download/update/standalone/changes.xml
    http://www.assetbank.co.uk/download/update/standalone/changes.xsd

    (For beta or latest version add "beta" or "new" just after the "standalone" folder
    e.g. http://www.assetbank.co.uk/download/update/standalone/beta/changes.xml )
  • Copy them to your Asset Bank server at the following location:
    [Tomcat]/webapps/asset-bank/jsp
  • Open [tomcat]/webapps/asset-bank/WEB-INF/classes/ApplicationSettings.properties
    Search for ‘application-update-url‘ and set it to the directory above
    e.g. application-update-url=http://localhost/asset-bank/jsp/
  • Then restart the web application or the Tomcat service for this change to take effect.

Note: If you use a proxy server, then you may get an 'HTTP Error 401 Unauthorized'. If this happens then you could temporarily turn off your proxy settings for Asset Bank, complete the upgrade and then turn your proxy settings back on.
