If you want text-based documents of a particular format to be searched, run this command against your database:
UPDATE FileFormat SET IsIndexable=1 WHERE FileExtension='xyz';
[where xyz is the extension of the file format you want to be indexed].
For example, if you want the text layer of PDF documents to be searched, run:
UPDATE FileFormat SET IsIndexable=1 WHERE FileExtension='pdf';
If you do not want the text to be indexed, do the opposite, e.g.
UPDATE FileFormat SET IsIndexable=0 WHERE FileExtension='xyz';
Note: you will need to run a 'reindex' from within the application after making these changes in the database, to update the search index.
