Brief

Santander had used various asset management systems over the last 13 years. Their requirements were extensive as they needed their Digital Asset Management system to perform a number of specific functions:

  • As a regulatory archive system
  • As a central artwork library for Santander’s marketers and agencies to update marketing materials
  • As Santander’s brand asset and photography library

Prior to contacting Asset Bank, Santander had struggled to find a comprehensive and user-friendly system that met all these bespoke requirements within their budget.

Solution

We were able to customise the Enterprise version of our Asset Bank to support the specific functions required.

The Santander Creative Bank has different site sections, different access levels and user views. This means someone working on the archive side of the Creative Bank can have a user experience specific to their needs, and visa versa for one of Santander’s marketers.

Through our admin system, Santander were able to make a lot of changes to their system themselves. But where required they could also call on our support programme if further assistance was needed.

Santander makes good use of Asset Bank’s functionality to group assets together, this is very helpful for them to control asset usage and for risk management, for example they can link assets which are part of the same campaign, making them very easy to find and make regulatory changes.

They also like the flexibility Asset Bank’s permission functionality can give them, allowing them, for example, to review asset download requests before giving permission. This gives them complete control over the use of their assets

Results

Santander currently has over 86,000 assets in the system and a total of 881 users across
Santander, their agencies and other third parties.

Group Communications Manager Lucinda Parish is delighted with the end result:
