Full Feature List

Asset Bank digital image software and video library software full feature list

  • Real-time repurposing of images & video: you need to store only the high-res versions of your images and videos. Asset Bank will create resized and formatted versions at the time of download, according to the predefined sizes you have set up, and users can crop images if they need to be an exact size. This is invaluable for users who don't know about pixel sizes and formats, and ensures that everyone uses the right sized image for the job.
  • Easy upload of files and data to the asset library. Users can add files to the image library using their browser, individually or in bulk - when adding a batch of files, metadata can be added to all of them at once. Asset Bank can also watch one or more directories and automatically ingest any files that are placed there. Metadata can be imported from a spreadsheet.
  • Secure image library with easy, flexible control of access. You can decide which images can be seen by each user group and specify their rights and permission levels. For example, you can assign logins for access and allow certain users to upload new assets, which can be checked before they are made available in the image library.
  • Powerful search engine: quickly search your asset database using keyword or advanced searches, which can include boolean logic and wildcards. The search engine uses stemming so any plurals and other derivations are found automatically.
  • Saved searches: users can save a search so that they can run it again later, using the same criteria. Admin users can save searches as 'Common search' links, shown to other users on the home page.
  • Saved search alerts: users can be alerted by email when new assets are added to the image archive that match their criteria.
  • Customisable approval workflows (document workflow) for uploading and downloading assets, ensuring strict quality control of assets across your organisation.
  • No ongoing licence fees; once you've bought Asset Bank digital image software it's all yours.
  • Multiple and shared lightboxes users can use one or more as their lightboxes ('baskets') which can then be shared with others for online project collaboration.
  • Customisable reports on how people are using your assets, giving you the information you need to continually monitor and improve your image bank.
  • IPTC, EXIF or XMP data: embedded in an image can be extracted on upload and used to populate Asset Bank's attribute fields - ensuring you make the most of data you have added using Photoshop, Adobe Bridge or other image software. The data can be written back into images when they are downloaded.
  • Audit logging: full audit logging and audit reports, so you can track what your users are doing in the image library: uploads, edits, deletions, views, downloads and searches.
  • Version control: you can upload new versions of files, track changes to the asset records, and view the version history of assets.
  • User reviews: users can add reviews, rate assets and search by average rating.
  • Asset types & relationships: enables you to set up different groups of metadata fields for different types of asset (as many as you need) and to define complex relationships between asset records.
  • Watermarks can be added to images that users see when browsing to prevent unauthorised use and protect copyrights
  • Embedded links: Asset Bank can serve images and videos for you to use in other web sites - it will give you a 'tag' to use. For video clips, this tag includes an embedded Flash player.
  • Usage Rights: Asset Bank's agreement functionality enables users to choose a textual usage agreement for each asset, to specify its usage rights. These agreements have to be consented to before a user can download or use the asset.
  • LDAP Integration: if your company uses a LDAP server, for example Windows Active Directory, Asset Bank allows users to use their existing username and password to log into the Asset Bank
  • Single Sign-on (SSO): can integrate with a SSO technology of your choice, for example Windows Integrated Authentication, OpenID, Crowd.
  • Integration with your CMS (Content Management System). For a seamless user experience, your image library software should integrate with your CMS to enable users to select and resize the images they want to use. Read more about integrating your photo library with your CMS.
  • Integration with other applications: Asset Bank provides a RESTful API so that other applications can search for and retrieve assets.

And finally:

Asset Bank digital image software is easy to install and cross platform - on Windows, Linux and Unix. It works with multiple databases including MySQL, Oracle and MS SQL Server.
